Parent Partnership
Strong parental partnerships are vital to ensuring that children settle well and succeed at school. At Barnfields, we ensure that we build strong relationships with both children and parents even before their first day at school. We operate an open door policy ensuring strong communication from the beginning. We understand that you know your child best and seek to work as a team to help your child develop and flourish.
We provide:
- Setting visits to your child's nursery before they start school.
- Induction meetings for parents.
- Parent workshops (Literacy and Curriculum).
- Celebrations where parents are invited into school such as our Mother's Day Assembly, Christmas Nativity Performance and Summer Celebration Afternoon.
- Newsletters – whole school and separate Reception weekly letters.
- Home activities – to support your child's learning
- Tapestry – An online Learning Journey where you can view photos of your child's learning and add contributions of learning you observe at home to help complete a full picture of your child’s development.
- Email contact – parents have access to staff emails to communicate freely. This is especially useful for parents who work full time.
- Parents’ Evening – twice yearly
